Is your child fearful of water? If she is, then watch this video because I’ll share with you a couple of tips on how to help your child overcome their fear of water. But before I get into it, if you’re looking for swimming lessons for your kids then go to free-swim.theaqualife.ca and sign up for a free introductory swim lesson.
For a child who’s afraid of water, learning to swim may take longer. So, the number 1 tip I can share with you is to first help your child overcome their fear of water and find the joy of learning to swim. Parents can take an active role in helping children who are fearful of water by actually taking them to the swimming pool whenever possible.
Tip number 2, be gentle and patient and help your child feel safe rather than trying to teach them swimming skills on the very first visits.
Tip number 3, we know that arm bands are very popular for toddler swimming lessons and many parents opt for them. However, we’re recommending you ditch them because they don’t help in teaching kids to swim.
At Aqua Life, in order to ensure a positive learning experience, we work at the child’s pace. Once the little swimmer is relaxed and happy in the water, learning skills such as submerging the face, or the back float will come easier.
