Do you have a kid that is smart as a whip and just won’t take you’re word for things?
You say, “Go ahead, put your face in the water. It’ll be fine!” and he/she looks at you skeptically and responds, “NO, thanks!”
Well, that pretty much describes Griffin, our super bright and imaginative swimmer of the session!
For his own reasons, Griffin had decided he would never put his face in the water.
This is where Melissa came in to play (literally:). Melissa gained Griffin’s trust in his first session, she challenged him, encouraged him, smiled at him and laughed her contagious laugh with him. And after 3 sessions he has made such extraordinary leaps in his swim skill and confidence in himself that he is barely recognizable in the pool!
A quick look at him in the picture above shows clearly the joy Griffin has found in becoming an aquatic creature 🙂
A huge hug goes out to Melissa for all her fantastical efforts (and her general love and aspirations for her students)! And of course a big hug to Griffin’s parents for trusting us with helping shape such an awesome kid!
Way to go, Griffin! We are all amazed at your courage!
